What’s your earliest memory of your neighborhood?
Chasing skater boys around to different house parties and going to shows. "Car bar”-ing (exactly what it sounds like) with my friends.

What are your favorite places to shop at, eat at, or just hang out in Echo Park? Are there places in Echo Park where you go for supplies or get inspired to create?
One of the many great things about Echo Park is that there is an abundance of delicious and authentic Mexican food. I also love the vintage shopping here. People watching on the Echo Park sunset strip is a good source of inspiration [because] there are so many colorful people to draw from.

What’s the role of music in your life?
Music starts my day. It gets me through traffic to and from work. If music isn't on set it feels like a punishment.

How does music inform your creative process? Is there a relationship between music, makeup, and modeling?
I'm always the one people go to on set to pick the music. You have to create the right vibe so everyone can let go and get out of their heads. Like with modeling, if it's stagnant and silent I become painfully self-aware. Music helps me release and find my groove.

Do you think Echo Park has a sound? What is it?
The old and the new colliding. The sound of a fresh pressed juice and a 40 oz being cracked open. Cities are a marker of time, not a place. Five years ago it sounded completely different—more romantic and in slow motion.

"[LIVE] UNAPOLOGETICALLY LOUD WITH WHO YOU ARE IN THIS WORLD…THAT’S A BEAUTIFUL GIFT."

- Matisse

How do you use color in your work?
One of my favorite things that I’ve done with makeup is the time I painted abstract shapes in an array of colors all over the model's eyes. Knowing color theory is one of the most used skills as an artist.

How does your color influence your work and how you express yourself?
If you know me then you know red is my color. If I'm not wearing a shade of red lipstick I feel exposed and dull. It's a color that has been true to me since I was a child. Red lipstick in itself has historically been the mark of an unapologetic and bold woman and that is how I want all of my art to feel.

If you were a color what color would it be and why?
I’m red, of course. It’s strong, timeless, romantic, and sexy.

What does LIVE IN COLOR mean to you?
To be unapologetically loud with who you are in this world…that’s a beautiful gift.
