Rated 4 out of 5 by BambooSandwich Great sound, high price!
These headphones are pretty good. They are comfy, they sound good, and they look good. My 2 problems are the price and the durability. They seem to snap with other peoples. Otherwise they are great and very bassy (I'm a bass head)

Unlike the Studio, the Solo has a matte finish, not the cool looking enamel finish that the Studio has. It folds the same way and also has a case to store them in, but this case is soft, unlike the hard case that comes with the Studio. And unlike the Studio, the Solo comes with one cord. Now, the Solo doesn't use batteries, which I like. At first I thought that the noise canceling portion wouldn't be as good as the Studio, but I was wrong. I also thought that the bass would be lacking, but I was wrong again. In fact, the bass was tremendous, so much that I think its annoying and overpowering. If you want bass, look no further. Just like the Studio's, these headphones are very comfortable. In all honesty, I want to love these things, but I can't. They don't sound right. The vocals are not as pronounce as the Studio's and the highs, well, they sound awfully muddy. I think a lot of it has to do with the bass, there is simple just too much, even at low volumes. I am hoping that they break in and sound better in a few weeks, because I don't want to return them, but I will if I had to.

these are a fashion accessory more than great headphones. i checked out the beats studio headphones and thought they sounded great, but not for 300.00. so i waited for the release of these solos at [$] -- i figured theyd have similar audio quality.unboxing them, i noticed right away that the cushion that lines the upper headband didnt meet flush w/ the connecting piece (on both sides) and this would be problematic in the future (reading many reviews on the studios, these beats headphones tend to be built poorly) -- i unsnapped the cushion and noticed that there was just too much slack in the material. also, noticed that these shook off my head w/ little effort.i plugged them into my iphone 3gs and flipped thru my playlists. even though they arent noise canceling, the cups suction around your ears blocking most of the outside sounds. from rock to hiphop, the vocal tracks (hi end) just seemed muddy and nothing in the EQ could be done to brighten the quality. this is sort of a bummer because the beats studios werent like this at all.at [$] including taxes, there are just much better alternatives (you can get the same quality from a 40.00 pair of skullcandys); these went straight back to [...]...

great sound, but snapped in half after careful use after 3 weeks. good news though, they are covered by a warranty for 3 years, just keep your box and case that came with it.

i use the earphone for about 3 months, the quality is definitely good BUT the construction of the earphone isn't, the over head structure breaks into 2 parts when i slightly expand it a little, what i can say is that my head is definitely small so i m surprised it can break into 2 parts...

The sound and bass are great. While I'm trying to get my headphones fixed or replaced, I bought the in-ear hi-resolution headphones. You can't beat the sound, but the construction needs to be upgraded [...]

Love the sound, look and comfort of these phones and bought them despite hearing that they had a tendency to snap because I am VERY careful with my gear. But one day, about 2 months after purchase, I picked them up to put them on and they practically blew up in my hand! Seriously disappointed - it's a major, major design flaw that can't really be tolerated in such a high-priced product. On the bright side, my request to replace them was answered quickly and efficiently. That's good, because I'm worried the next pair will snap too!
