Rated 4 out of 5 by BeatsLuver One of the more affordable beats headphones
At $130, this pair of headphones is one of the more reasonably priced Beats by Dre headphones. For $130, it's a great choice

Normally I don't write reviews but I will for the Beats EP. The nice design on the box had caught my attention and I really wanted to try it out. I did not have high expectations at this price range, only hoping the sound would be acceptable. I was pleasantly surprised. The sound is fantastic. I already own the Beats mixr (in two colours) and the Beats Pro. Whilst the mixr is the one I will continue to throw in my bag as it is the most durable and has a replaceable cable, I am very pleased that with the EP, Beats has invested in sound quality and tuning the sound just right given the price point. In terms of durability, the EP is not as durable as, say, the mixr. The frame is flimsy and the cable is not replaceable. Of course the mixr is up to double the price. Compared with the mixr and Pro, the sound of the EP can be described as having fat in the frequency range between bass and mid. The mixr shaves off that fat. The Pro brings detail and accuracy. Whilst the Pro is the most accurate, sound is a personal taste and there will be people who like the EP the most. I have been to hi fi shops and compared mixr with headphones costing 500-700 and they surprised me by how thin and tiny the sound was compared with the mixr. The EP would beat all of them. Note for best sound: Give all your headphones a good burn in period of at least 24 hours, put it away somewhere playing constantly at high volume. The sound changes and improves.
